Daily Journal Entry:
Today is another long driving day as we head on to Kano. As the roads improve, we decide to push on and try to make it to Kano today. We leave early today - 6:40 AM - and we will have breakfast on the way. We also have our lunch on the truck to save time.

After a long days drive, we make it to Kano at 5 PM and we stay at the Kano State Tourist Camp. It is not bad, but a bit run down. As we got off the truck, guess what, we were greeted by a Malaysian. He is here in Kano trying to make is fortune and at the moment he is running the restaurant in the campsite. Jacqui goes of and has a chat with him and to catch up. As we have had a tiring day, we decide to have dinner at his restaurant.

But we first head over to DHL to see if they have our tent. They are able to track it down, but it is with one of their couriers. They promise to deliver it to the campsite. So we head back and relax. About 45 minutes later, it shows up and we try it out. It is nice, but not as good as our original tent - but it is better than nothing.
After a good "Asian" meal, we walk around town a bit and check out some of the "hotspots". Not much going on, so we head back to the campsite and go to bed.
The milestone for the day is that we have now passed the 15,000 km mark so far on this Trans Africa. That, I understand, is almost like flying from New York to Singapore.
