Daily Journal Entry:
As Lars had not been feeling well overnight, we took it easy in the morning, resting and napping in the tent. We both had not gotten to much sleep.

Around noon time, we decided to head into the city of Rabat and walk around. We walked from the campsite down to the river and caught a boat across the river to Rabat. Jacqui must have looked like a local as we got the local price of 1 Dirham, instead of the 2 Dirham that most others paid. We got this old man that seemed to work so hard and looked like he could barely make it (in particular when the current was strong - but we did make it!!). So we gave him bit extra.

We walked around Rabat, first heading up to the Casbah to have a nice view over the ocean, river and Sale. While we were going through the Casbah, some locals tried to take advantage of us by leading us a bit astray, but we were able to take care of ourselves. It can be a bit confusing in all the alleyways.

We then walked through the Medina, which was like many other Arab cities I have been to. Lots of people, small streets, noise and dust, but also lots of fun. Jacqui got herself some lunch - a nice plate of couscous. We then walked through the souk, but did not find much of interest. In the late afternoon, we took a boat back across the river - it turns out we got the same old man!!

We took it easy that evening. Went to see the sunset over Rabat from the beach before dinner. |
