Daily Journal Entry:

Today we will be heading to Ghana.  After an excellent nights sleep, we get up and get ready.  We had agreed to meet the truck back at the Ghana embassy, and as we headed over there we stopped off at a bakery to pick up some breakfast.  We met the truck at 9 AM, and after collecting our passports, we are on our way to Ghana.

After a quick lunch on the road, we arrive at the Ghana border shortly after 1 PM.  The formalities are not too difficult, and we are on our way after an hour or so.  But it is tough waiting for the formalities to be completed.  When we are driving, we get a nice breeze and the heat is not too bad.  But once the truck stops, the temperature in the truck climbs quickly.  We can get off the truck, but while outside, we are constantly hassled by the locals trying to sell us something, change money or asking for gifts.  So it is a tough trade off.

Once crossing the border, we drive as far as we can for the day.  At around 5 PM, we pull off the road and set up a bush camp.  It is now starting to get more difficult to find bush camp sites, as the vegetation is getting a lot thicker.  It is hard to find a clearing large enough that is not occupied or being used by the locals.

W take it easy, and shortly after dinner we head off to the tent to get a good nights sleep.
