Weather: Mostly clear, sunny and very hot.  Windy on the beach.  Warm and humid overnight.

We are sad to leave Salvador this morning.  We have had  a great time in this city and would like to stay, but we decide that we do not want to miss what is coming.  We leave at 8 AM and drive for most of the day, stopping just for the cook group to shop and for lunch.

Shortly after 4 PM we arrive at Pirambu, a small town on the ocean.  We stay at a campsite right next to the beach.  There is a turtle research center here, so we quickly go and visit it before it closes.  It is very basic and the major feature are a number of tanks that have turtles in them.  It is a bit sad to see the turtles trapped like this, but maybe it is overall for good if the research center is able to raise enough money to protect the eggs that are laid on the beach (they collect the eggs after they are laid and the protect them until the turtles hatch).

After our quick visit we head down to the beach to relax and to take a stroll up the beach.  It is actually quite a nice beach - good sand, wide and not many people at all.  We wish we could stay here longer and maybe we would even set up our tent on the beach itself.

When the sun sets we return to the truck where we hang out until dinner is ready.  After dinner we enjoy watching the near full moon.  We check out the beach and it is lit up with the moon light.  A fantastic night.  As we go to bed, scattered clouds pass over the night sky in the wind and the moon is like a bright spot light that is being turned on and off.  We have not put our fly on our tent and we fall asleep to this night time show.  It is good to be back in our tent under the open sky.
