We have a bit of a slow and lazy
morning, hanging out in bed and the campsite and waiting for
breakfast. Breakfast is pancakes. After breakfast, we continue
to relax around the campsite waiting for our guide who will take us for a
walk through the villages in the area.
|
|
We head off on our walk shortly
after 9 AM. We head through the village and then go along dirt tracks
that meander through other villages and besides huts and fields. Along
the way we meet many people as it is Sunday and they are heading towards
church or to meet with family and friends. We learn the local words
for greeting people and asking how they are. The local people respond
well and are very friendly.

|
After about 1 hour, we arrive at
Elinta View Point and we have a great view over the countryside and the
hills around us. It is a bit hazy, but it is still a nice spot and we
enjoy the views.
|
|
We then head on and wander back
along a different route where we stop at a rest house for lunch. Lars
takes a short nap before lunch is served. There is an aid project
going on in the area, and we are served food made at this project, including
dark bread, cheese, jams and juice. It is all very good and we have a
feast.
|
|
After lunch, we wander down to
the dairy, where we pick up some of the cheese that they make fresh every
day. It really is very good (and cheap).
|
|
We get back to the campsite at
around 1:30 PM and take it easy for the rest of the afternoon - reading,
napping and working on our journals. Late in the afternoon, we get a
fire going and all move and sit around the fire. Dinner is eaten
around the fire and we have a good sociable evening. Off to bed early as we
have an early start in the morning.
