Daily Journal Entry:
Not very much to report today - it is a driving day (and a long one at that). As we have a long distance to cover, we are up early this morning and we skip breakfast and pack up the campsite and are off by 6:30 AM. The road is still bad, so it takes us almost 3 hours to get to the border. While clearing formalities on the Ghana side, we pull out the cookers and some breakfast stuff, and grab ourselves something quick to eat (bread and fruit salad). The locals passing through the border took a strong interest in what we were doing.

The Togo side of the border is also no major drama, and we are on our way towards Lome, capital of Togo, by 10:30 AM. We then drive for the rest of the day, having lunch on the truck as we drive along. The road varies from very good, to not so good. We arrive at Lome and the campsite on the eastern outskirts at 7:20 PM and set up camp.
After dinner (fried potatoes), we head off to our tent, which we have set up just on the edge of the beach overlooking the ocean. Once again we fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves.
