We now begin our drive to
Caracas, where we will end our trip to South America. We get up, back
our bags, load up the truck and are off. We drive the short distance
into town, where we have the morning. We drop some people off at the
bank to try to get money from the ATM (always a bit of a pain), and then
head into town. We wander the streets for a while and then spend some
time at the internet cafe. We also grab a light breakfast from a
vendor on the street. We wait a while for the truck (bad traffic) and
then head off.

We drive for the rest of the day,
stopping for lunch at McDonalds. What a way to end the trip, but it
seemed to be what many people wanted and is fast and convenient. It is
a long drive in the afternoon, and we do not get to our night stop until
just before 8 PM. We had some problems finding accommodation for the
night - it is Easter Weekend, so every on the coast is booked out.
What we found was a place on the beach where we could pitch our tents.
It was actually quite a nice little spot.

After setting up camp and getting
organised, we just hang around. We are too lazy to go in search of a
restaurant, so we order some light snacks from a local lady and polish off
the last two bottle of wine that we have left (other than then the four that
we will take hoe with us). It is a nice evening. The lagoon that
we are camping on fills up with many people who are fishing. They
light small fires, have some drinks with them and just hang out waiting for
the fish to bite.

We go to bed early and just lay
in our tent watching all the people in the light of the full moon. It
is a clear night sky - a great way to spend the last night of the trip.
