We spent these two days getting ready for the first leg of our South American circuit with Dragoman.  Our first priority was to send off our dive gear.  We finally found a DHL office that was open on Saturday and the it took us about three hours to dispatch it.  We had to unpack the whole thing to let them inspect it and then the kind lady was new and did not know the paper work very well.  We finally made it out of there and had a bite to lunch.

That evening we had a drink and dinner with Paolo, who we traveled with on our Trans-Africa.  It was good to catch up with him and to swap stories from Africa and what has been happening since.

On Sunday we had the joining meeting for the Dragoman trip where all the paperwork is completed.  The rest of the day was spent packing, working on this journal and getting the Galapagos trip loaded onto the server.

The entire group went out to dinner at a Mongolian restaurant, followed by a few beers at a small bar down a dark side street.  It was actually closed today, but they opened especially for us.   We had to ring the bell twice to get in.  It was dark and a bit dingy, but they had cold beers.  They were also showing the last game of the World Series and we caught the last 3 innings - was that depressing for us Yankee fans.

A group of us walked back to the hotel - the streets were deserted and we were glad that we were a small group.
